Former Rangers star Andy Little has insisted there is still a lot left to play for, as the Gers close in on the end of the season.

The Light Blues bounced back from their Old Firm derby defeat to Celtic with a convincing 3-0 win over Hearts at Ibrox on Wednesday in the Scottish Premiership.

Steven Gerrard’s men continue to remain 13 points adrift of Celtic, who also won their game during midweek at St Mirren, as the domestic season in Scotland enters its final few weeks.

And in the wake of their impressive display against the Jambos, Little has insisted there is still a lot left to play for Rangers, despite losing out on the title race.

The former Ger also stressed that Rangers must maintain the standards they hit during the win over Hearts and says they should seal second place as soon as they can to avoid any mishaps towards the end of the season.

“I think the sooner they can secure that second place, the better. You don’t want to make it interesting towards the end of the season”, Little told the official Rangers Podcast.

“It would be best just to continue the way they finished the game on Sunday [against Celtic] and the way they played in parts tonight [against Hearts] to keep that tempo and that style of play.

“I think there’s certainly going to be some difficult games and teams are playing for a European position.

"So there’s a lot to be played for yet and it’s important that they just maintain the standards that they showed [against Hearts].”

Rangers will next face Motherwell away from home at Fir Park on Sunday in the Premiership.
