Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to make a summer move for Andre Gomes as they look to beat Everton to his signature this summer, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Gomes joined Everton last year on a season-long loan deal from Barcelona but the Toffees do not have an option to buy him at the end of the season.

Everton are keen to sign him on a permanent deal from Barcelona, but are now set to face stiff competition from fellow Premier League outfit Tottenham in the next few months.

Spurs have identified the Portugal international as a potential recruit and the club are prepared to fight Everton for his signature in the summer transfer window.

The north London club are prepared to sanction a £30m move for the midfielder and take Gomes from under Everton’s noses.

The Portuguese has been on Tottenham’s radar for some time and they considered signing him on loan in January 2018.

Tottenham’s chief scout Steve Hitchen was at Anfield to watch the midfielder in action during the Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton in December.

Mauricio Pochettino is also a big admirer of the midfielder and wants to add him to his squad.

Gomes is keen to wait until the end of the season to take a call on his future, but he is not expecting to return to Barcelona in the summer.
