Liverpool loanee Ryan Kent has admitted that his loan stint at Rangers has gone better than he expected, even though he would have welcomed the chance to collect silverware.

The 22-year-old is approaching the end of his stay at the Glasgow-based club after arriving in August last year on a season-long loan from Liverpool.

Kent has since managed 39 appearances for the Gers in all competitions, scoring six goals, and has also set up nine more for his team-mates.

The Liverpool loanee has also been voted by the fans as the Young Player of the Year and Kent is happy with what he has achieved.

“Going into every game I have been really positive and hopefully I have raised some bums off seats with my style of play", Kent told his club's official website.

“I was hoping I would make an impact here going into the season, I am always optimistic.

“But I think it has gone better than I probably thought it would."

Kent though admits he wanted more from his loan stint, with trophies the missing ingredient.

"I would have liked to have achieved more, domestically in the league winning trophies.

"On a personal level though I think it has been a good season for me.”

Kent is currently serving a suspension after footage showed him lashing out at Celtic skipper Scott Brown in the Old Firm derby at the end of March.
