AC Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis is probing the possibility of taking Arsenal manager Unai Emery to the Rossoneri ahead of next season.

With AC Milan loosening their grip on a top four finish in recent weeks, Gennaro Gattuso’s future at the San Siro has come into sharp focus.

It has been reported in Italy that the Rossoneri are considering going into next season under a new coach and the club have been sounding out candidates across Europe.

A number of names have already been linked with the AC Milan job and it has been claimed that even Arsenal boss Emery has emerged as a target.

And according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Gazidis is personally assessing the situation as he looks to reunite with the Spaniard at the San Siro next season.

The South African led the search for Arsene Wenger’s replacement as Arsenal chief executive last year and played a crucial role in identifying Emery.

The Spaniard has taken Arsenal to the quarter-finals of the Europa League and they are still involved in the race for a top four finish.

Gazidis believes that Emery would cost far less in wages than a number of other options under consideration, such as Antonio Conte.
