Manchester United linked youngster William Saliba, who is on the books at Saint-Etienne, has attracted the interest of around 20 clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 18-year-old centre-back broke into the first team squad earlier in the season and has made just 13 appearances in all competitions thus far.

But his limited appearances have been enough to attract the interest of several clubs across Europe ahead of the end of the current season.

Manchester United are reported to have been keeping close tabs on his performances and are believed to be considering a swoop for him in the summer.

But the club are likely to face stiff competition for his signature, as according to French sports daily L’Equipe, close to a whopping 20 sides have shown an interest in the youngster.

The teenage defender’s performances have mesmerised many and Saint-Etienne are worried about losing one of their academy stars in the coming months.

Saliba still has a contract until 2021 with the club and Saint-Etienne are plotting to offer him a new deal in order to keep him.

He is also a regular for France in age group football and recently broke into their Under-20 set-up.
