Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has stressed the Spurs players will share the responsibility of leading the team during Harry Kane’s absence due to injury.

Kane, who is Tottenham’s leading goalscorer in all competitions this term, picked up an injury during their win over Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday.

Spurs have yet to reveal a timeframe for Kane’s absence, but he is certain to miss their league game against bottom-placed Huddersfield Town on Saturday in the Premier League.

Despite relying heavily on Kane for the majority of the season, Pochettino has insisted his absence will not put any extra pressure on the other attacking players, including Heung-Min Son.

The Argentine also stressed that his team will cope with the absence of Kane by equally sharing the responsibility in attack among themselves during the remaining games of the season.

“There’s no pressure for him, there’s a pressure for us and the team to try and deliver our best job and win games”, Pochettino said in a press conference when asked about extra pressure on Son.

“I think for Sonny, Fernando [Llorente], Lucas [Moura], Christian [Eriksen], Dele [Alli] it’s the same pressure and responsibility.

“For me, football is about collective and keep in the same way of thinking to improve and increase the level, it is going to be tough because there are going to be some decisive games to be in top four next season and go to next stage of Champions League.”

Spurs can leapfrog Chelsea back to third-place in the Premier League table with a win over Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
