Leeds United striker Caleb Ekuban, who is on loan at Turkish side Trabzonspor, says he has made his late mother proud by being capped by Ghana.

Ekuban is currently impressing at Trabzonspor in Turkey and the Super Lig side are tipped to use the purchase option in their loan agreement with Leeds.

If Trabzonspor pay Leeds €1m before the end of May, Ekuban will join permanently, ending his spell at Elland Road.

Ekuban has now been capped twice by the African country and revealed that it was his late mother's wish that he be capped by Ghana.

"My mother asked me to play for the Ghana national team before she passed", Ekuban was quoted as saying by Turkish daily Takvim
