Tottenham Hotspur are set to send scouts to watch Werder Bremen striker Max Kruse in action against Bayer Munich at the weekend.

With Fernando Llorente likely to leave Tottenham in the summer on a free transfer, the club are looking at the option of bringing in a back-up to Harry Kane into their squad.

The north London club have been keeping a close watch on a number of players and Mauricio Pochettino is believed to be keen on bringing in an experienced head.

Tottenham have been keeping tabs on Kruse and the Premier League club are eyeing a detailed scouting report.

According to local Bremen daily DeichStube, Tottenham scouts will be sent to Germany this week to watch Kruse feature for the Bundesliga outfit against Bayern Munich.

Werder Bremen will play the German champions twice over the next week and Tottenham scouts are expected in the stands to run the rule over the 31-year-old striker.

Kruse is out of contract in the summer and his free agent status makes him an attractive target for Tottenham.

However, there is expected to be competition for his signature as the striker has also been on Inter's radar.
