Leeds United legend Eddie Gray believes Norwich City are feeling the heat again in the Championship promotion race after dropping points in their last two games.

Until recently Norwich looked like a shoo-in to earn automatic promotion to the Premier League as Championship winners, but results have gone south in recent games.

A 2-2 draw at home against Reading and a 1-1 at Wigan last weekend have cut down their lead at the top of the table to just four points with four games left in the season.

Norwich have home games against Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn Rovers and two away trips to Stoke and Aston Villa before the season is over.

Gray believes that those are tricky games on paper for the Canaries and feels Norwich will be looking to step up a little bit in order to avoid an unlikely end-of-the-season collapse.

Asked about the pressure Leeds United's promotion rivals Sheffield United are under, Gray said on LUTV: “They will be feeling the pressure, but so should Norwich.

“Norwich will be looking at their fixtures and thinking, we need to step on the gas a little bit.

“They have slipped up, they have dropped four points in the last two games and against sides the majority of people would think they should win against, Reading and Wigan.

“It never happened for them and they have a couple of tough fixtures to come as well.”

Norwich do have a seven-point lead over third placed Sheffield United and still look a strong bet for automatic promotion.
