Wigan Athletic boss Paul Cook has provided an update on the state of his squad ahead of the Latics’ trip to face Leeds United at Elland Road on Good Friday.

The Latics return to action in the Championship, after their impressive 1-1 draw against Norwich City last weekend, when they lock horns with Leeds at Elland Road.

Cook’s men are currently languishing just above the relegation zone and will be eyeing extending their involvement in the second tier for another season by notching up as many points as they can from the remaining games.

However, they will have to start with a difficult away trip to west Yorkshire on Good Friday during their meeting with Leeds and Cook has provided an update on the players available for selection at Elland Road.

The Latics boss confirmed that both Nick Powell and Josh Windass are ready to be involved again after recovering from their injuries, but ruled out Danny Fox, who came off injured last weekend.

"Nick Powell and Josh Windass are fine”, Cook told iFollow Latics.

“Nick felt his hamstring a little bit in the Hull game, but we dealt with it leading up to Norwich and he's fine to be involved again this weekend.

"Unfortunately for Foxy, he's not going to be able to travel to Elland Road, but everyone else has recovered well from Sunday's game."

Wigan succumbed to a 2-1 defeat when they met Leeds in the reverse fixture at the DW Stadium back in November.
