Leandro Trossard’s agent has indicated that joining Arsenal this summer would be the wrong career move for his client.

The 24-year-old winger has scored 20 goals this season for Genk and is being tipped to leave the Belgian club during the summer transfer window.

Several clubs have been keeping tabs on his performances over the course of the season and are prepared to table offers for him in the coming months.

Arsenal and Wolfsburg are believed to be leading the chase for Trossard this summer, but his agent, Josy Combair, believes joining the Gunners would be the wrong move this summer.

He believes Trossard needs to play regular football, something he feels is not guaranteed at Arsenal, and insisted that there could always be the possibility to join the Gunners later in his career.

Speaking to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws, Combair said: “Arsenal are a possibility. But for his career, it is probably better for him to join Wolfsburg.

“If he plays two years there, he can still join Arsenal.

“If he goes straight to Arsenal and doesn’t play regularly it would become mentally very difficult.”

The agent feels Trossard’s versatility makes him a unique player and it is certain that a fee in excess of €20m would be needed to buy him in the summer.

“Leandro is almost as comfortable with both feet, he can play left, right and centre.

“We don’t often see these kinds of players.

"I don’t see him leaving for anything less than €20m.”
