Napoli are closing in on agreeing on a permanent deal with Fiorentina for the services of Arsenal linked midfielder Jordan Veretout.

Veretout, who joined La Viola from Aston Villa in the summer of 2017, has been a consistent performer for the club in Serie A.

As such, the Frenchman has popped up on the radar of several clubs, including Arsenal, who have been linked with holding an interest in his services.

However, according to Italian daily Il Mattino, Napoli are closing in on an agreement with Fiorentina, as they aim to secure a deal for Veretout.

Amadou Diawara, who has struggled for regular game time at Napoli under Carlo Ancelotti, could also be included in the deal.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal are still in contention to try and hijack Napoli's move for Veretout between now and the end of the season.
