Rangers midfielder Steven Davis believes the Gers can go to another level next season if they can build on the positives from this term.

Davis, who secured a return to Ibrox during the winter transfer window, joined the Old Firm giants on a loan deal until the end of the season in January.

However, the midfielder had to wait patiently to play an influential role with the first team as he was still only getting up to speed after sparingly featuring at Southampton in the first half of the season.

Despite his slow start to his second stint at Ibrox, Davis has started the last two games against Hearts and Motherwell, respectively, as Rangers cruised to two consecutive wins.

And ahead of their trip to Tynecastle on Saturday, Davis has admitted that he feels Rangers can go to another level next season if they take the positives from this term on board.

The Northern Irishman believes he brings a lot to the team and insisted Rangers have players with a real desire to bring trophies back to the club.

“I’m just concentrating on the games at the minute, but obviously I’d like to be”, Davis told the club’s official website.

“I feel like I have a bit part to play, I feel that I bring a lot to the team and I think that we have a hungry group of players with a real desire to start to bring trophies back to the club.

“There’s been a lot of good work and good progress this season and we need to try and take that to another level next season.”

Davis, who is out of contract at Southampton in the summer, could secure a permanent move back to Rangers in the summer.
