Rangers winger Daniel Candeias has revealed a liking for veteran Besiktas winger Ricardo Quaresma, a player he feels his own game is similar to.

Candeias was on the books at Portuguese giants FC Porto at the same time as Quaresma and paid close attention to the winger as he caught the eye.

Quaresma, who is now 35 years old, is still going strong, plying his trade in Turkey at Besiktas and while Cristiano Ronaldo is Candeias' favourite player, the veteran winger is someone he hugely admires.

The Rangers star believes Quaresma's game is similar to his own, with the winger also enjoying providing assists.

"In this moment it's Cristiano [who is my favourite player]", Candeias said on Rangers TV.

"But I like very much Quaresma because the style of his game is similar to me.

"He is a player that gives more assists and I like assists."

Quaresma joined Besiktas for a second spell in 2015 and the 35-year-old has clocked 29 appearances in all competitions for the Black Eagles so far this season, providing an impressive 14 assists.

The winger, who had a short stint at Chelsea in 2009, is under contract with Besiktas until the summer of 2020.
