Liverpool youngster Bobby Adekanye has revealed that Lazio have great plans for his future and he is following the Italian side's games closely.

Adekanye is set to leave Liverpool when his contract expires at the end of the season and Lazio are expected to be his destination.

The young striker has held talks with the Rome-based club, who have been working on agreeing a deal to sign him for several months.

Now Adekanye has struck a positive note over a switch to Lazio, revealing a chat with the club's sporting director Igli Tare and words of encouragement.

The Liverpool talent told Italian daily Corriere dello Sport: "I was in Rome and I spoke to Lazio – they have great plans for me.

"I am interested in the proposal [they have put forward].

"I talked to the sporting director Igli Tare. He thinks that I can become a good player and that coming to Lazio could be a good choice for my career.

"I am following all the Biancocelesti matches.

"In Serie A I could enhance my qualities because I like to attack."

Adekanye, who has clocked up nine appearances in the Premier League 2 for Liverpool's Under-23 side this season, as well as turning out for the Reds in the UEFA Youth League, says he is 80 per cent sure of joining Lazio.

"[I am] 80 per cent [close to Lazio].

"I still have to make the final decision with my agent and my family."

In the UEFA Youth League, Adekanye scored against both Paris Saint-Germain and Napoli, but the 20-year-old will now be continuing his career away from Liverpool.
