Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has insisted his side still control their destiny when it comes to finishing in the top four, despite losing at Manchester City.

Spurs dropped points at the Etihad Stadium when they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Manchester City and the result made the race for a top four finish a little more interesting.

A win for Arsenal on Sunday would take them above Tottenham and if Manchester United beat Everton away from home, they will be level on points with Pochettino’s side.

The Tottenham boss stressed that his side are very much in charge of their destiny, but admits that they will need to win the next two games to keep the momentum going.

He conceded that with the Champions League semi-final also thrown in the mix, it will be a tough end to the season for the north London side.

Pochettino said in a press conference: "It's in our hands to be in the top four and be in the Champions League next season.

“We are going to have now the next two games that will be decisive.

"We are going to be capable to win the next two games against Brighton and West Ham and I think will depend on us.

“Of course it's going to be tough now because Tuesday we have a tough game and Saturday and the semi-final of the Champions League against Ajax.

“We know the circumstances and it will be very tough but I feel very proud.”

Tottenham will end the season with a home game against Everton.
