Celtic need to bring in a natural number 9 in the summer transfer window, former Bhoy Scott McDonald believes.

Neil Lennon's men could not score against Hibernian at Easter Road on Easter Sunday as they played out a 0-0 draw.

The Bhoys had a chance to move a step closer to locking up the Scottish Premiership title, something Lennon is keen for his players to do as soon as possible.

McDonald, a former Celtic striker, believes that there is a lack of variation in the Bhoys' attack.

And he is convinced Celtic need to bring in a natural number 9 in the summer.

"Celtic definitely need another centre-forward", McDonald said on BBC Sportsound.

"They need a variation.

"They need an out and out number nine."

Lennon has been tipped to be handed the manager's job on a permanent basis, but Celtic have yet to make an announcement over whether the Northern Irishman will remain in charge.

And other managers could yet be in the mix, with Willy Sagnol having admitted he would be keen on the post.
