Former Hibernian star Tam McManus has blasted Olivier Ntcham's display for Celtic in the early exchanges at Easter Road.

Neil Lennon's men are locking horns with Paul Heckingbottom's Hibs side this afternoon as they bid to move a step closer to the Scottish Premiership title.

Midfielder Ntcham was named in the Celtic starting eleven by Lennon, but did not have a promising start.

He gave away possession cheaply in the sixth minute and Hibernian almost took full advantage, but saw Scott Bain produce a save to deny them.

McManus was quick to comment on Ntcham's display.

And the former Hibernian attacker wrote on Twitter: "Ntcham is having another nightmare."

McManus has been firm in his view that Celtic should have signed John McGinn from Hibernian last summer; the Bhoys missed out on the midfielder, who linked up with English Championship side Aston Villa.

And he feels the respective form of both players means there is no comparison to be made at present.

The former Hibs man added: "Not even a contest currently, the McGinn v Ntcham debate."

McGinn has been lauded for his performances for an Aston Villa side pushing hard for promotion to the Premier League and having won their last nine Championship games on the bounce.

Ntcham has attracted interest from Portuguese giants FC Porto and it remains to be seen if Celtic cash in on him in the summer.
