Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur linked defender Davide Calabria is closing in on signing a new contract with AC Milan ahead of the summer.

The 22-year-old right-back has impressed at the San Siro this season and has been one of the key players in Gennaro Gattuso’s top four chasing team in Serie A.

His performances have led to interest from several clubs, with suggestions that he has been attracting the prying eyes of Premier League sides.

Manchester United and Tottenham could both be in the market for defenders this summer and have been linked with Calabria.

But AC Milan have sensed the interest surrounding the defender and, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, they are close to getting him to sign a new contract.

The Rossoneri have been in talks with the 22-year-old's representatives and an agreement in principle is in place.
