Juventus are prepared to table a bid for Chelsea linked defender Alessio Romagnoli if AC Milan do not qualify for the Champions League.

AC Milan are currently fifth in the league table in Italy, with a game in hand over fourth-placed Roma, and are desperately trying to return to the top table of European football.

The Rossoneri have already earned the ire of UEFA for breaking Financial Fair Play regulations and are expected to work under strict budgetary constraints in the summer.

And it has been claimed that the money flow could further tighten if they do not qualify for the Champions League at the end of the season.

Romagnoli, the club captain, is expected to be one of the players who could be sold if they do not qualify and, according to Italian outlet TuttoJuve, Juventus are ready to make most of the opportunity.

The Italian champions are keen to freshen their ageing backline in the summer and the AC Milan skipper has emerged as a possible option.
