Manchester United loanee Axel Tuanzebe has lauded his Aston Villa team-mates for giving their blood, sweat and tears after earning a hard-fought point against Leeds United.

Dean Smith’s men fought valiantly and ended up securing a point after what worked out as an eventful encounter with Leeds in the Championship on Sunday.

The hosts took the lead through Mateusz Klich in controversial fashion when Leeds refused to put the ball out of play after Jonathan Kodjia went down injured during the final quarter of the game.

Anwar El Ghazi was shown a red card for an altercation with Patrick Bamford after the fracas surrounding the opening goal and the Whites allowed Villa to equalise shortly thereafter to restore parity and justice.

And after being reduced to 10-men, the visitors worked tirelessly to scrape out a draw in the end to prevent Leeds from returning to winning ways in the league.

As such, Tuanzebe has lauded his team-mates for giving their blood, sweat and tears during the hard-fought draw at Elland Road on Sunday by insisting every single player gave their everything to come away with a result.

“When you go ten men down in a place like this, you know it’s going to be difficult”, Tuanzebe was quoted as saying by the Express & Star.

“Respect to the lads, they battled. We gave our blood, sweat and tears.

“We left it all out on the pitch and you can’t ask for much more than that from your team-mates.”

Aston Villa, who are currently on course for a playoff finish, will face leaders Norwich City on the final day of the regular season this weekend.
