Real Madrid have thrashed out personal terms on a contract with Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen ahead of a potential summer move to Spain.

The 27-year-old Dane will enter the final year of his contract with Tottenham at the end of the season and efforts to make him sign a new deal have so failed.

Real Madrid have identified the attacking midfielder as one of their key targets for the summer transfer window and efforts are under way to make sure they land the signing.

Eriksen’s refusal to sign a new deal has signalled his intention to consider his future at Tottenham and it seems he is keen to move to the Bernabeu this summer.

According to Spanish sports daily AS, the midfielder has agreed on a contract with Real Madrid ahead of a potential move to Spain in the coming months.

Real Madrid believe it is their first step towards their attempt to take the Dane away from Tottenham in the summer.

The attacking midfielder is expected to get a massive pay rise if he eventually joins Real Madrid.
