Lyon are paying close attention to the progress of Watford talent Dodi Lukebakio, who is on loan in the Bundesliga at Fortuna Dusseldorf, ahead of the summer transfer window.

Lukebakio, who joined the Hornets from Charleroi in Belgium during the winter transfer window last season, sealed a loan switch to the Bundesliga with Fortuna Dusseldorf last summer.

The 21-year-old has impressed during his spell under the tutelage of Friedhelm Funkel and has scored 14 goals, including a hat-trick against Bayern Munich, in all competitions this term.

And according to French magazine France Football, Lyon are keeping close tabs on the Watford man, having scouted him on a number of occasions this season.

However, Lyon are not alone in their admiration for Lukebakio, as he is also on Schalke's radar.

Despite the interest from abroad, it remains to be seen whether Watford are prepared to cash in on Lukebakio without giving him a season to impress with the first team.

The Hornets are tipped to value Lukebakio in the region of €10m to €15m and have locked him down to a contract at Vicarage Road that expires only in the summer of 2022.
