Borussia Dortmund have cranked up their interest in Liverpool target Julian Brandt as they spy a summer bargain.

Brandt, who has impressed at the BayArena with Bayer Leverkusen, has a €25m release clause in his contract, active in the summer transfer window.

Several sides have been linked with Brandt, including Liverpool and Juventus.

But Dortmund are also alive to the 23-year-old and, according to German magazine Kicker, have bumped up their interest to the next level.

Dortmund are making serious moves to position themselves as Brandt's next destination, with the €25m release clause making the attacker more attractive.

Brandt has clocked up 40 appearances across all competitions for Leverkusen this season, contributing an impressive 16 assists and scoring eight goals.

Leverkusen have the 23-year-old under contract until the summer of 2021, but are vulnerable this summer due to Brandt's release clause.
