West Ham United could be set to hit a brick wall in their interest in Guillermo Maripan as Alaves have no plans to sell the centre-back.

The Hammers are pushing forward with their transfer plans and boss Manuel Pellegrini has zeroed in on countryman Maripan.

Maripan, 24, has been impressive for Alaves over the course of the current campaign, making his mark in La Liga after switching to the Spanish side on a four-year contract in 2017.

The Chile international is an attractive target for West Ham, but according to Spanish daily AS, there is little sign of Alaves being willing to sell.

The Spanish side have the defender under contract for another two years and are yet to be convinced over letting him leave.

As such, West Ham look to have significant work ahead if they are to take the Chilean to the London Stadium in the summer transfer window.

Maripan has now clocked a total of 42 appearances in the Spanish top flight, while he has 13 caps for Chile to his name.
