Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Gelson Fernandes believes his team will be hard to beat if they produce their best against Chelsea in their Europa League semi-final tie.

The German side have already emerged as one of the giant killers of this season’s competition and knocked Italian heavyweights Inter out of the competition earlier in the campaign.

They are massive underdogs going into tonight’s semi-final first leg at Commerzbank-Arena against Chelsea, who are being backed to reach the final of the competition.

Fernandes admits that it will be a tough game for Eintracht Frankfurt as Chelsea are one of the top teams in Europe and have quality players who can do the job for them on the pitch.

However, he is certain if Eintracht Frankfurt put their best on the table, they will be a very hard side to beat over the two legs, which has already been proven this season.

“It will be very difficult. They are a big European team but we’ll do our best”, the Eintracht Frankfurt star told German outlet Fussball Transfers.

“It is going to be a tough game but anything can happen.

“The coach needs us to do our best and if we succeed it won’t be easy to beat us.”
