Former Bundesliga star Ned Zelic has issued a warning to Chelsea that Eintracht Frankfurt are a dangerous side that can cause them problems in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final tie.
Maurizio Sarri’s men came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt at the Commerzbank Arena on Thursday in the first leg of the tie.
The Blues fell behind to a goal from Luka Jovic in the 23rd minute, but restored parity just ahead of the half time interval courtesy of Pedro, who finished after some good play by Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Despite dominating possession and threatening to score on a few instances, Chelsea were unable to find the winning goal that would have given them a significant advantage in the second leg.
And ahead of the return leg at Stamford Bridge next week, Zelic has warned Chelsea by claiming that Eintracht Frankfurt are a dangerous side that can cause problems for any side.
The former Borussia Dortmund star insisted that Adi Hutter’s team have incredible spirit and players with a spark in attack and stressed it will be an interesting second leg at Stamford Bridge.
“Eintracht Frankfurt [are] a dangerous team”, Zelic wrote on Twitter.
“Run all day, incredible team spirit, players with spark in attack.
“[It] will be a very interesting second leg at Stamford Bridge.”
Chelsea have yet to taste defeat at Stamford Bridge in the Europa League this season.
