Former Premier League star John Barnes has warned Wilfried Zaha that a move to Arsenal would not suit him as a player.

The star Crystal Palace winger has been linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium in the rapidly approaching summer transfer window.

But Barnes does not believe that a move to Arsenal would suit Zaha and feels that being at Crystal Palace allows him to get the most out of his game.

The Liverpool legend says that Zaha is an individual in his play and would not be allowed to operate in the same way at Arsenal.

Barnes said on beIN SPORTS Super Saturday: "I think Palace suits him, a bit like [Marko] Arnautovic at West Ham, he's a superstar in that team, he does what he wants.

"When he goes to a team whereby he has to fit into how they play, he is a real individual player who needs to be, I think, at a club like Palace.

"He goes anywhere on the field, he tries everything, and they allow him to do that at Palace.

"They won't allow him to do that at Arsenal", Barnes added.

Crystal Palace have Zaha, 26, under contract at Selhurst Park until the summer of 2023.

The winger has caught the eye under Roy Hodgson this term and it remains to be seen if Crystal Palace will entertain big money bids for his services in the summer.
