Napoli have rekindled their interest in Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake, who has also been linked with a move to Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Serie A giants are planning to invest serious money in their defence in the summer and are working on a number of proposed deals.

Lyon left-back Ferland Mendy and Tottenham right-back Kieran Trippier are firmly on their radar as they look to revamp their full-back options ahead of the start of next season.

However, Napoli are also looking to bring in a centre-back as the long term replacement for Raul Albiol, whose injury issues have been a worry for the club.

And according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, the club are taking a look again at Bournemouth centre-back Ake as a possible solution.

The Dutchman was on their radar earlier this year but the trail went cold as the club prioritised signing full-backs.

But Napoli are again considering signing the defender, who they believe could be available for a fee of €30m.

Ake also has suitors in England with Tottenham and Chelsea having been linked with being keen on him, meaning Napoli may have to fight the Premier League pair for his signature.
