Gian Marco Ferrari's agent has confirmed a host of clubs, including Premier League side Watford, are tracking his client ahead of the opening of the summer transfer window.

The defender is on the books at Sassuolo, but could be on the move in a matter of months and was recently linked with Spanish giants Sevilla.

The Italian's agent, Giovanni Bia, however says that Sevilla are far from the only club keen on his client and name-checked Watford as a side who are alive to the defender.

Bia told Italian outlet EuropaCalcio: "But there is not only Sevilla. There are so many teams that have been close to him since last summer.

"He is among the top four, five Italian central defenders. There are also Roma and Inter, who looked for him in January, but things did not materialise.

"Ferrari is still on the notebooks of many international scouts.

"Sevilla, Porto, Valencia and even some English [clubs] including Watford.

"There are many clubs that have been calling me to get information about Gian Marco."

A product of the youth set-up at Parma, Ferrari has so far made 28 appearances in Serie A for Sassuolo over the course of the current campaign, being booked seven times.

The centre-back was linked with Newcastle United last summer.
