Bayern Munich will not be pursuing the signature of Liverpool and Arsenal target Nicolas Pepe during the summer transfer window.

Pepe has been one of the stars of Ligue 1 this season because of his performances for Lille, but he is likely to leave the club in the coming months.

Several top European clubs have been chasing him and there were suggestions that Bayern Munich were considering making a move for him in the summer.

The German champions want to spend big in the coming months to refresh their squad and Pepe has been tipped to be a target for the club.

But in news which will give Arsenal and Liverpool a boost, according to German magazine Sport Bild, the Bavarians have decided against pursuing the signature of the Lille winger during the summer transfer window.

The German champions have shifted their focus to other targets and Pepe is a player they are no longer interested in signing ahead of the start of next season.

Arsenal and Liverpool have been working to do the legwork on a potential deal, and Bayern Munich being out of the race will be welcomed.

Pepe does though also have interest from Italy in the shape of Inter.
