West Ham United are still interested in a potential swoop for FC Porto striker Moussa Marega ahead of the rapidly approaching summer transfer window.

Marega, who joined Porto from Maritimo in 2016, was linked with a move to the Premier League, amidst interest from West Ham, last summer.

Despite the talk of a proposed switch last year, a move failed to materialise after the Hammers failed to meet the financial requirements demanded by Porto.

As such, Marega was forced to stay in Portugal and has been a star performer for Sergio Conceicao’s men so far this season.

According to Portuguese daily O Jogo, West Ham continue to remain interested in the possibility of a potential swoop for Marega when the transfer window swings back open.

The Hammers are prepared to rekindle their interest in the attacker, especially as he was keen to make the move last summer.

Marega has scored 20 goals and registered 11 assists for his team-mates in all competitions so far this term.

The 28-year-old has a €40m release clause attached to his current contract at Porto, that runs until the summer of 2021.

He has earned 18 caps at senior level for Mali since making his debut in 2015.
