Kevin Gameiro is expecting Arsenal boss Unai Emery to be extra motivated ahead of the Gunners' trip to Valencia tonight.

Arsenal are coming into the game on the back of a 3-1 win at home in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final tie and are looking to finish off the job in Spain.

Emery has a great record in the Europa League, having won the trophy three times on the trot as Sevilla coach and is looking for his fourth win at the end of the season.

But the Spaniard also has history with Valencia, the club he coached between 2008 and 2012, and the fans of his former side still very much remember the way he celebrated a last minute goal from Sevilla at the Mestalla that took them through to the final of the 2014 edition at Los Che’s expense.

Gameiro, who won the Europa League at Sevilla under Emery, feels the Spaniard is a very motivated individual, but believes he will have something extra in him to beat Valencia again.

The Frenchman told French sports daily L’Equipe when asked about Emery returning to Valencia: “The return to Spain, against one of his former clubs, must increase his motivation.

“He is anyway a very motivated individual even under normal circumstances.

“For us, we need to prepare ourselves and we know what we need to do to win and not have any regrets.”

Winning the Europa League is Arsenal’s only route back to the Champions League this season.
