Leeds United have been keen to have one more go at Manchester United target Daniel James if they are promoted to the Premier League.

The 21-year-old winger was on the verge of joining Leeds on deadline day in January, but Swansea backed out of an agreement in the final hours of the transfer window.

Leeds have continued to keep tabs on him but it seems he could be on his way to Manchester United this summer.

The Premier League giants are reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Swansea for James and are believed to be on the verge of signing the winger.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, James is on Leeds' radar and the club have been planning to make a move for him if they can secure promotion.

But with Leeds involved in the playoffs in the Championship and not sure of going up, Manchester United have moved early and it seems they can beat the Whites to the 21-year-old’s signing.

Leeds extensively scouted him ahead of the winter window and Marcelo Bielsa was desperate to add his attacking qualities to his squad.

It remains to be seen, if negotiations drag on between Manchester United and Swansea, and Leeds earn promotion through the playoffs, whether they jump back into the race for James.
