Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani has rolled out the Elland Road red carpet for Italy Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini.

Salvini, who also serves as Minister of the Interior in the Italian government, was pictured holding up a Leeds scarf, with the Italian flag in the badge.

And Radrizzani delighted at Salvini holding up the scarf, rolling out the red carpet for his countryman to come to Elland Road to watch the Whites in action.

The Leeds supremo wrote on social media: "Minister Matteo Salvini! We look forward to seeing you at Elland Road, always spectacular Leeds United."

If Salvini takes up Radrizzani on his proposal, he could be watching Leeds playing Premier League football next term.

The Whites took a big step towards the Premier League on Saturday evening when they beat Derby County 1-0 in the first leg of their Championship playoff semi-final tie.

Leeds are now big favourites to book a spot in the final at Wembley when they play Derby again on Wednesday night at Elland Road.
