Malmo striker Markus Rosenberg has revealed he spoke about Leeds United with Pawel Cibicki, following his side's 4-1 Swedish top flight win over Elfsborg.

Cibicki is under contract at Leeds, but is currently in the middle of a loan spell in Sweden with Elfsborg.

He lined up against Malmo, the club he used to play for, but could not stop Elfsborg being crushed, with Rosenberg helping himself to a brace.

Rosenberg and Cibicki were locked in a lively discussion after the final whistle and the Malmo star has revealed it was Leeds they were discussing; Leeds are pushing to win promotion to the Premier League through the Championship playoffs.

"We talked about Leeds", Rosenberg was quoted as saying by Aftonbladet, adding: "That's the only thing he tweets about."

Leeds have former Malmo star Pontus Jansson in the ranks, the defender a big Malmo fan, and Rosenberg admits that he is hoping his fellow Swede can get the Whites over the line.

"Sure, we are with Ponne. I have never followed the Championship like I have this year", the 36-year-old Malmo striker said.

"It would be fantastic if he is able to take them up to the Premier League."

Leeds won the first leg of their Championship playoff semi-final tie against Derby County 1-0 on Saturday and will now look to progress to the final at Wembley when they line up for the second leg at Elland Road on Wednesday night.
