Ilkay Gundogan will open talks over a new contract with Manchester City at the start of next season, it has been claimed.

The German midfielder stopped all negotiations over a new deal recently and has been heavily linked with a move away from Manchester City.

He has a contract until the end of next season at the Etihad and clubs such as Inter, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are believed to be keen on signing him this summer.

But it seems Gundogan will stay at Manchester City beyond the summer transfer window as it has been claimed talks over a new contract will resume.

According to German outlet Spox, the midfielder will reopen negotiations over a new deal with Manchester City at the start of next season.

It has been claimed that the German is likely to sign a new deal, but Manchester City risk losing him on for nothing next summer if the contract situation remains unresolved at the start of the 2019/20 campaign.

Inter have been in touch with the player and are said to be keen on waiting until next season to get their hands on him on a free transfer.
