Claim From Italy: Celtic Put Italian Coach On Managerial Shortlist

Former Chelsea and Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has emerged as a possible target for Celtic ahead of the end of the season.

Ranieri has confirmed that he will be leaving Roma at the end of the season following a short stint as coach at the Stadio Olimpico.

The experienced Italian remains keen on working in football and despite his failure at Fulham this season, he remains a coveted coach in the British Isles.

And according to Italian outlet Calcimercatoweb.it, he is one of the names Celtic are targeting as their new manager ahead of the start of next season.

Neil Lennon’s future at Celtic remains under consideration and following their defeat to Rangers at the weekend, it is unclear if he will take the job permanently.

Celtic have been scouring the market for a new manager and a big names have been linked with the job, including former Chelsea and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.

Ranieri has also emerged as a target and it remains to be seen whether he will agree to move to Scotland if made an offer.

The Italian has extensive experience of managing in Europe, but his greatest achievement is winning the Premier League title at Leicester City in 2015.
