Celtic star Ryan Christie believes the reaction to his side’s defeat to Rangers has been over the top and the Bhoys are still very much the team to beat in Glasgow and Scotland.

Rangers scored a 2-0 win over Celtic at Ibrox last weekend in the Glasgow derby and are set to end the season on a happy note, despite not picking up silverware this season.

Many believe Steven Gerrard’s side will pose a greater threat to Celtic next season, but Christie stressed that some of the reactions following the weekend do not have a basis in reality.

He stressed that Celtic are still the top dogs in Glasgow and Scotland and insists that they could end the season by winning another domestic treble.

“Especially after Old Firms, it all gets blown out of proportions”, the Celtic star said in a press conference.

“You saw that with a couple of comments [like] Glasgow is blue.

“We’re going into the last two weeks with a trophy day and a cup final to look forward to; they certainly don’t have that.

“I think at the weekend Glasgow will definitely be green and white.”

Celtic will take on Hearts in the league on Sunday before facing the same opponents in the Scottish Cup final on 25th May.
