The agent of West Ham loanee Edimilson Fernandes has insisted that his client has enjoyed playing his football in Italy this season and indicated the midfielder’s desire to continue at Fiorentina.

West Ham loaned out the Swiss midfielder to Fiorentina last summer and he has done well during his stint with La Viola during the ongoing campaign.

The Serie A giants have an option to make the move permanent this summer for a transfer fee of around €8m.

Fiorentina have been tilting towards keeping hold of Fernandes and his agent also revealed that his client has enjoyed the experience of playing in the top tier of Italian football.

A final decision has not been made and Fernandes’ agent insisted that he will take a call at the end of the season when he will meet Fiorentina and coach Vincenzo Montella.

Franco Moretti told Italian outlet Calciomercato.it: “The boy is very happy with his experience in Italy.

“Edimilson is currently focused only on the end of the season and it is too early to talk about next season.

“At the end of the season we will see each other and talk with the club and coach and we will see what to do.

“With Montella, immediately there was a great feeling.”

Fiorentina want Montella to take the final decision before they consider taking up the option on the midfielder.
