Rangers star Andy Halliday has admitted he cannot complain about his lack of playing time as the Light Blues have been enjoying an impressive winning run in recent weeks.

Since Jon Flanagan's return to action, Halliday has struggled to break into the first eleven under Steven Gerrard.

Gerrard's side are currently on a six-game winning run and will look for their seventh when they make the trip to Kilmarnock for their final Scottish Premiership game of the season.

With Flanagan's impressive form and Gerrard refusing to tinker much with his winning formula, Halliday has been warming the bench.

Yet the boyhood Rangers fan says he is happy to prioritise his team's winning streak over his playing time and believes he only needs to try to get back into the fold.

He was quoted as saying by Rangers' official website: "It’s certainly not been easy but it makes it a lot easier when the team are doing very well and picking up results.

"As a football player at a massive football club the club always comes first and you just need to try and get back in the fold.

"But I’m more than happy that we have managed to put this run of wins together."

Halliday has made 22 appearances in the Premiership this season, registering one goal and providing an assist.
