Marcelo Bielsa is leaning towards remaining at Leeds United for a further season.

The Argentine's side missed out on automatic promotion from the Championship following a poor run of form in the business end of the campaign, while they were then dumped out of the playoffs at the semi-final stage by Derby County.

Bielsa's contract at Leeds allows for a break between the club and head coach this summer, but he has told the Whites he is prepared to listen if they want him to stay.

And, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, citing sources in Argentina, Bielsa is at present minded to stay at Leeds for next season.

The head coach will turn 64 years old in July, but appears to be ready to commit to another long Championship season with Leeds.

It is unclear what backing he will be provided in the transfer market, as he looks to add to the squad.

And Leeds may also need to battle off Premier League interest in a number of their players who have caught the eye over the course of the season.

But if Bielsa stays it will hand the Whites a big boost and fresh hope in their efforts to find a way out of the Championship.
