Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani has vowed the Whites will come back stronger next season after their Championship playoff semi-final exit to Derby County on Wednesday.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men failed to hold on to a 1-0 advantage from the first leg, as they succumbed to a 4-2 defeat at Elland Road during the return leg to crash out of the promotion playoffs against Derby.

The Whites were backed by a vociferous crowd at Elland Road on Wednesday, but failed to ensure their progression to the final against Aston Villa at Wembley.

And in the wake of their disappointing defeat to Derby, Radrizzani has vowed to come back stronger next season in a bid to try and put an end to their spell away from the top flight.

The Leeds supremo also thanked everyone associated with the club, including the passionate supporters, for their commitment and insists the team will work harder to become successful next year.

“We don’t stop to believe. We work harder to build a modern and successful club”, Radrizzani wrote on Twitter.

“Thanks for the amazing support [from] the fans and thanks to the players, coaches, management and everyone involved at the club for the commitment shown all season.

“We will be back stronger.”

Leeds will be eyeing extending Marcelo Bielsa’s contract for at least another year at Elland Road, as they aim to push for promotion again next season.

The Whites have failed to return to the Premier League, since suffering relegation back in 2004.
