Marcelo Bielsa has been tipped to stay on at Leeds United despite the disappointment of the Whites missing out on promotion to the Premier League.

The legendary Argentine tactician looked to have Leeds on course for automatic promotion from the Championship, but a poor run after the turn of the year pushed the club into the playoff mix, where they lost out to Derby County.

Bielsa could leave Leeds this summer if he wishes, with his contract having a natural break, but insisted in the wake of the side's playoff exit that he is prepared to listen to what the club have to say.

And, in what could be an encouraging sign for Leeds fans, it has been claimed that Bielsa looks set to stay and build on his progress at Elland Road.

According to Fox Sports Latin America's Christian Martin, citing conversations with "key people", Bielsa looks set to stay on at Leeds, meaning Whites fans have no cause to worry.

The Argentine is expected to hold talks with Leeds next week as he weighs up moving forward in the Elland Road dugout.

It remains unclear what level of financial backing Bielsa will be offered at Leeds over the summer.
