Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has told fans to "watch this space" over talk that the Gers are set to sign Greg Stewart.

The 29-year-old is on loan at Aberdeen from English Championship side Birmingham City, but he is expected to depart St Andrew's this summer, when his contract expires.

Stewart has been linked with Rangers and Gerrard, following the Gers' loss at Kilmarnock, replied "watch this space" when asked about a move for the forward.

Rangers have already snapped up Jake Hastie and Jordan Jones, as Gerrard looks to improve his squad.

Following the loss at Rugby Park, Rangers have finished the season with 78 points from their 38 games, nine points behind leaders and champions Celtic.

Stewart spent the first half of the season on loan at Steve Clarke's Kilmarnock side before then switching to Aberdeen in the January window.

He headed south of the border to sign for Birmingham in 2016 from Dundee.

Stewart could not make an impact at Birmingham however and is now set to seal a permanent return to Scotland by linking up with Rangers.
