Inter are not prepared to match Manchester United’s asking price for Matteo Darmian or meet the player’s wage demands.

Darmian, 29, will be entering the final year of his contract this summer and has been desperate to leave Manchester United since last year.

The Italian has again been a bit part player at Manchester United this season and the club and the player are ready to part ways in the ongoing transfer window.

Darmian is keen to return to Italy and Inter have repeatedly been linked with the former Torino star.

But according to Italian outlet FcInterNews.it, they have cooled their interest in the player due to the financial demands of Manchester United and the defender himself.

Inter have no interest in matching the €12m asking price that Manchester United have set for Darmian and do not want to pay more than €6m at the moment.

The Nerazzurri are also not keen on the €3m salary Darmian would demand even if they can reach an agreement with Manchester United.

It remains to be seen whether the Italian decides to take a pay cut in order to force his way out of Manchester United.
