Roma are unwilling to do business for a fee less than the release clause attached to Arsenal and Juventus linked Kostas Manolas, it has been claimed.

Manolas, who joined Roma from Olympiacos in 2014, has been a regular member of the first team at the Stadio Olimpico in recent years.

Despite being one of the established members of the Giallorossi side, Manolas has often been linked with a move away from the club, owing to his impressive performances at the back.

And ahead of this summer, Manolas has piqued the interest of several clubs, including Arsenal and Serie A champions Juventus.

The 27-year-old has also popped up on the radar of Manchester United and Atletico Madrid, who have been linked with triggering the €36m purchase clause attached to his contract.

And according to Italian daily Corriere di Roma, the Giallorossi are unwilling to play ball with potential suitors for Manolas, unless the clubs are willing to pay the release clause for the defender.

It is claimed that Roma expect the interested parties, including Arsenal and Juventus, to pay the amount of €36m in full to snare Manolas away from Italy.

As such, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal are willing to loosen their purse-strings during their quest to beat Juventus in the pursuit for Manolas.

Roma have locked Manolas down to a contract that runs until the summer of 2022 at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Greece international has earned 39 caps at senior level for his country, since making his debut in 2013.
