Former Rangers star Lee McCulloch is sure that Alfredo Morelos will only get better as a striker, but he is unsure whether that development will continue at Ibrox.

Morelos, who completed a clean sweep at Rangers’ individual awards ceremony this year, has been a standout performer for the club, despite his disciplinary issues.

The Colombian netted his 30th goal in all competitions during the defeat to Kilmarnock last weekend and has also notched up 11 assists for his team-mates this term.

As such, Morelos is expected to be the subject of interest from several clubs in Europe during the transfer window this summer.

And in the wake of talks linking Morelos with a potential exit from Ibrox, McCulloch has claimed the striker will only get better.

The former Ger credited Morelos for achieving the feat of 30 goals in a campaign, especially considering Rangers have failed to win anything during their recently concluded season.

McCulloch also admitted it will be interesting to see what happens regarding Morelos’ future this summer, as he expects Rangers to make a few changes to their squad during the transfer window.

“To get to 30 goals is a real achievement, especially when he is in a team that haven’t won anything. He has been brilliant and he is only going to get better as well”, McCulloch wrote in his column for the Evening Times.

“It will be interesting to see what happens in the summer and whether Rangers try to hold on to him or sell him on if they get a substantial bid for him.

"We will wait and see.

“There will be changes to the squad at Rangers and there is no doubt it can be a big season for Steven Gerrard next term.”

Rangers will return to action as early as July, when they contest in the Europa League qualification rounds for next season.
