Leicester City have identified Burnley centre-back James Tarkowski as a potential replacement for Manchester United and Manchester City target Harry Maguire, according to the Times.

Maguire continued at Leicester last season despite being incessantly linked with a move to Old Trafford last summer.

Manchester United are again in the market for a centre-back and the club are again interested in taking the England international to the north west this summer.

Premier League champions Manchester City are also eyeing a move for Maguire and Leicester are believed to be demanding a fee in excess of £75m for the centre-back.

And the Foxes have circled in on Burnley defender Tarkowski as a potential target to replace Maguire, who is believed to be keen on a move.

Burnley signed the 26-year-old from Brentford for a fee of £3m in 2016 and his development has led him to the England squad.

Wolves have also made an enquiry for the defender but for the moment Burnley are in no rush to sell the centre-back.

With several clubs showing an interest in Tarkowski, Burnley could earn a big profit from the England international’s potential departure.
