Everton have been handed a boost by the news that Lille winger Nicolas Pepe is not a priority target for Paris Saint-Germain.

Pepe is set to leave Lille this summer and has been linked with a host of Europe's top clubs, with Everton recently showing interest in securing his services.

Liverpool and Bayern Munich have also been linked with holding an interest in the Ivorian, who shone in Ligue 1 at Lille last term.

However, Pepe has always been willing to consider staying in France if wealthy PSG make a move for him.

However, according to French broadcaster Canal+, the Lille attacker is no longer a priority for the Parisians this summer.

The French champions want to invest in their forward line, but Pepe is not the player who they are actively seeking to sign at the moment.

Mauro Icardi has emerged as a target and he could be an achievable goal as Inter want to sell the Argentine.

The news will be a boost to the player's other suitors, including Napoli, who have been linked with an ambitious swoop.
